KACHINA DAVIDSON

WIRADJURI YORTA YORTA ARTIST
Kachina Davidson is a proud Yorta Yorta and Wiradjuri woman. She is a 3rd generation Indigenous Artist, following in the footsteps of both her Mother and Grandfather who grew up on the Cummeragunja Aboriginal Mission on the Murray River, before moving to Tasmania in his early 20s.
Kachina was born in Hobart, Tasmania, and lived there until 2014. Since that time, she and her husband have been living on Wonnarua country, in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales.
She is an emerging artist, having started painting in April 2021. Kachina works in a Contemporary Intuitive Style, primarily painting in acrylic on canvas.
Her works are bold and unique, drawing inspiration from the diverse, native flora and fauna of Australia, as well as the striking landscape and geology. Each piece incorporates a tribute to her heritage.
Kachina is also an avid nature photographer with a particular interest in Native Australian birds. Her photos have been featured on social media by Hunter Valley Tourism, City of Newcastle and ABC Australia, among others.
