Red Gum honours the enduring presence of red gum trees across Wiradjuri Country and the knowledge they carry through time. Rooted in Country, these trees are living archives, bearing the marks of generations within their bark, branches and form, connecting past, present and future.

Jasmine draws upon traditional Wiradjuri linear expression to reflect the natural markings and textures of the tree. Repeated lines echo the patterns held within the bark, suggesting movement, memory and the passage of time.

The work invites us to listen deeply and recognise trees as knowledge holders, communicating through their presence and the changes they carry across seasons and generations. Red Gum honours their strength and longevity, and their place within the interconnected relationships between people, water, land and the living world.
