JASMINE COE Earth with Honeybees
JASMINE COE - Wiradjuri-British Artist
This work explores our relationship with the land, the importance of grounding ourselves in the earth and aligning with the energies of the natural world. Woven into the piece are honeybees, I use personal symbols to represent both fragility and strength. As essential pollinators, they embody the delicate balance that sustains life on this planet.
The bees remind us that we belong to the natural world, rather than the earth belonging to us. Their flight traces a journey through layered landscapes, their movements echoing the Rainbow Serpent - the ancestral creator of land. Just as the Rainbow Serpent shaped the earth, the bees maintain its balance, ensuring the ongoing harmony of life.
