JASMINE COE Father Moon
Father Moon - Ariana meaning moon in Wiradjuri, a name Jasmine’s father gave to her. This work embodies the strength and guidance of Jasmine’s father and cultural heritage. Line is used in keeping with traditional Wiradjuri style, honouring and continuing connection. In Wiradjuri culture, the moon is a masculine presence. For Jasmine, the moon is a source of comfort and grounding, a reminder of ancestral ties and paternal love, ever-present regardless of distance.
Together with Mother Sun, these works honour the sacred duality of parenthood. The moon and sun - night and day, father and mother, orbit around us, sustaining life and shaping who we are. In this cosmic dance, we are the Earth - embodying both day and night, equal in presence, equal in purpose.
