ETHAN-JAMES KOTIAU 'Maranoa River'
Ethan is a proud Gunggari artist whose work is deeply rooted in memory, connection, and Country. Born and raised between the lands of the Gunggari people near Mitchell and Iningai country near Longreach, Ethan's art reflects the landscapes, histories, and lived experiences of these regions.
His paintings are more than visual records-they are layered stories of place, family, and cultural continuity. Through his work, Ethan explores the spirit of the bush, the flow of the rivers, and the echoes of those who came before. His practice honours both his heritage and the deep emotional ties he holds to land and community.
